Family is looking to retire in or around Siesta Key / Sarasota area.

We are trying to narrow our search for homes and would appreciate suggestions from those of you 'on the ground'.

Budget is 150-300k.

Access to beaches within convenient driving distance is desired.

Thank you for specific suggestions!

-Sunny

How big of a house do you need? You aren't going to find anything on SK in your budget except maybe a small older condo. Most houses on the mainland near the key are going to be higher as well. You might be able to find a bungalow in the higher end of your range but it will be smaller or probably need rennovating.

You can find something further inland within your budget. How far do you consider "convenient driving distance" from the beach?

I would suggest going to myfloridahomemls.com & doing a search of the area. It will help answer a lot of your questions.

Thank you for your response!

1500-1800 sqft. 3/2 house is desired.

15-20 minutes or so drive distance would be nice.

Anything of good value within that distance to Siesta Key?

Thank you!

Gulf Gate, Gulf Gate Woods are both in zip code 34231. Just southeast of Siesta Key. Popular neighborhoods for the (mostly) well kept 1960's ranch homes. Gulf Gate does has a HOA, very reasonable annual fee.

On the higher end of your price range Emerald Gardens has newer homes, community with deed restrictions.

Beneva Pines and Country Place slightly older homes (1980's) with lovely, large treed lots. Gulf Gate East near Gulf Gate is another similar neighborhood. Very reasonable HOA fees too.
