and it is much nicer than a fake tv fire lol that is no substitution
I don't have one here but had one in South Carolina out by my pool and we'd use it all the time. Even in July when it was 95 degrees at midnight we'd float in the pool while we had a roaring fire going.

One of the only things I miss about SC is my outdoor fireplace.

I think I am going to go ahead and do a few infrared heaters outside along with a fire pit of some kind.

I'd do a fireplace under my lania/awning/outdoor covered deck before I'd do a fire pit.

Reason being you can lounge outside in the winter under your covered deck and watch tv with a fire going as opposed to a fire pit where everyone just kind of sits around out. You can use a fireplace in an outdoor living space whereas a fire pit is usually off in the yard somewhere.

Good luck and post photos!

Well I don't have a fake tv one either but have seen people that do. IMO a fireplace in Florida is just a waste of money.

it really is a matter of personal opinion and lifestyle. I've actually used my fireplace more times this year than i've used my pool! Some people I know are in the pool every day. We could probably, as a family, easily live without the pool where I thought that would be a #1 priority for FL living.

We have a wood burning fireplace in our living room and have never used it once. We have gas in the house and are thinking of having the fireplace switched to gas. We have an electric fireplace in our bedroom and use it several times in the winter, just to heat up the bedroom before we go to bed instead of turning on the heat in the entire house.
