Does anyone have information on who, what, where of finding year-long rental for nice condo in downtown Sarasota (south of Fruitville). Seems like most are advertising seasonal rentals. Are year-long that uncommon? What is best time of year to do this search? Any excellent recommendations on realtors who specialize in downtown rentals, especially year-long.

What is your budget? For something over $2500 you can find a lot by going to any realtor or
www.Rent.com . Under that budget there really isn't much. My friend who is an artist, found a really cool one bedroom by driving and walking around. That is how I've found the best rentals.
I've hardly ever found anything on craigslist. Downtown is very expensive.

Your best bet is to start collecting information now & shoot for an annual rental starting in May or June. Everything is sky high due to season until then. Craigslist is good for annual rentals but you'll have to stalk it morning, noon & night; that's how I found my place. Downtown is not always "sky high" you just have to really keep at it. My place on Palm Ave., right next to Burns Court Villas ($3k month annual rental asking price) was $825/month for a one bedroom/one bath in a historic home. Same view.
I was perusing CL just for the heck of it & there's not a whole lot on there right now "sky-high" or otherwise. It'll be easier if you can wait out the season!
