We are looking at a move to the Sarasota area and have not been able to find even ONE decent Realtor. Im a Broker in St louis so I understand the process -- we dont want to waste anyones time but we want to fly down in the next 30 days and would like to have someone to work with.
If you know of a good, communicative agent in the area please let me know.

I'm curious, what specific criteria defines a decent Realtor to you?

What are you looking for? I gather you've asked for help finding something but haven't been sent anything. Maybe what you want isn't available?

So many millions of people come to Sarasota and the area on vacation, decide they'd like to own a place, drive around, make a few calls to realtors, and forget about these plans when they get home.r

Realtors can easily get caught up in doing a lot of legwork for someone who will never buy down here and end up wasting their time.

It isn't you, it's everyone else.

I looked the OP's other posts up
He has looked in Naple's area and then in Ft. Myer's for past year or so but apparently has trouble finding something in price range that meets all their specs I guess...so they keep moving north...
maybe feels failure to find perfect property is the realtor's fault--no specifics given except they can't find what they want in their price range...

that isn't the realtors' fault, IMO, since they can only show you what the market has...

Exactly. Especially when they phrase their post - "ANY good realtors in Sarasota."

You know, I'm going to start blaming my realtor. I'm PISSED I cannot find a 1920s Spanish home on the water, close to downtown, 2/2 with a one bedroom guest house, pool, fireplace, and completely remodeled for less than 200K.

Bad Sarasota realtors.

true "that isn't the realtors' fault, IMO, since they can only show you what the market has...[/quote]

Eventually they buy, and the good Realtors educate them upfront and don't work with unqualified buyers. Sometimes there is just too much to choose from and they get confused about why values are more or less from one city/town to another. Or they have champagne taste on a beer wallet. Or friends are "advising" them.

FL is a huge state with tremendous variance in price ranges, people change their mind about locations for various reasons.

I'm going to recommend Adam Waxler from www.ukeepcommission.com - especially if you are a buyer - you may qualify to get some cash back on your purchase.

We dealt with him for a while but had something else come up and never closed with him - so no affiliation - only a good experience - thus a good reference!

He is in the Lakewood Ranch area.
