The rain and clouds are going away just in time for a beautiful weekend and outdoor activities.
On Saturday our area is offering:
Corvettes on St. Armands, one of the largest displays of classic Corvettes on the SW FL coast, 10 am - 4 pm (although I suggest going before 3 as some owners start leaving after that).
Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest, open to the public, all ages, to be held near the pavillion.
Food & Wine on Pine (Anna Maria Island's Pine Ave.), food from 20 area restaurants, more than 30 wintes & beers, plus an art show featuring over 60 artists. 11 am - 6 pm. Tickets for food & beverages to be sold at the event.
Cinco de Mayo event on Lemon Ave in downtown Sarasota, 5 - 11;30 pm. Lots of food, music and live entertainment.
Braden River Music Festival & Gumbo Cook Off, Linger Lodge restaurant & campground in south Manatee county, $15 per person, starts at 10 am, live bluegrass & country music.
On Sunday you can find:
Sustainable Shindig at Bradenton's Riverwalk park, 11 am - 4 pm, festival celebrating the enrivonment, food, music & educational booths, free admission.
LaBarge tour boat is hosting it's annual jazz club cruise, 3 - 5 pm, tickets required.
