Any real Bohemian coffee shops in the Sarasota area. We stopped in to Simmons last week end and it was a bunch of Mercedes driving snobs in a very mediocre setting. I was far from impressed. A strip mall with a few tables out front is not quite the cafe setting I was looking for. They did not even have any scones. LOL First and last time there. I heard about the breakfast house in Fruitville, but have not tried it yet.

An article in the paper today about this new one in Southside Village:

Coffee 3.0: Perq Coffee Bar brings artisan brews to Sarasota | Ashton Goggans | Ticket Sarasota

And another on the north trail near the colleges that opened last year:

Coffee Loft Opens On North Trail - Bradenton, FL Patch

Also on the north trail, Cafe of the Arts:

Breakfast house is more of a "restaurant", not a coffee shop. Management there is weird, food pretty good but haven't been back in awhile due to various issues.

try le lu' in siesta village, and the coffee/tea house also in siesta village near davidsons, the locals hang out there out of season and even in season, great coffees in both, and Lelu do great cocktails which she makes up of the top of her head, and sometimes they will blow your head off!!!!!!!later on in the evening that is, we always go there after dinner for a coffee

Would you consider Burns Court Café bohemian? It's small but quite charming

Make coffee at home. Take it to the beach.

What could be more Bohemian than sand between your toes?

Yes, we Mercedes driving snobs follow you VW Bus driving peasants to find the good coffee.

It's tedious but someone has to do it.

If I see a Bugatti, I'm going to throw myself in front of it.

Whatever it takes to get to Casey Key.
