Does anyone know what the deal is with the lawsuit the city lost that now makes it legal to smoke on the beach?

Crescent Beach was horrible yesterday with all the smokers and the butts were everywhere.

My wife and I were just talking about the scourge of trash and cigarette butts littering the beach, this morning. The smokers obviously have no concern for the condition of their own bodies, but 2nd hand smoke and 1st hand filth are totally unacceptable.

I love to smoke cigars, but I NEVER, EVER smoke one if I am around anyone else on the beach.

I don't know about the lawsuit, but I'm going to read up.

Throwing a butt down is littering. They should be charged $250 plus for every butt.

I have seen a lot of people put out their butts and then stuff them in a Baggie then into their beach bag. Apparently not all smokers are pigs like some people think.

I don't think anyone thinks that smokers in general are pigs but there are definitely some very inconsiderate smokers just as there are inconsiderate non smokers.

I was on the beaches many times this year during the Red Tide and it was horrendous. I could hardly breath. But I love the beaches so much I didn't want to leave. Cigarette smoke would have been mild compared to that. Just a slight inconvenience but it would never ruin my day. There are wide open spaces on the beach. It's not like you're stuck in an elevator with a smoker. Enjoy your day!!

The worst IMO.. are the loud mouths who talk so loud.. they don't know how to talk.. it's like they're always in scream mode...you can completely hear them a few feet away.

What is that?
Beaches are supposed to be relaxing.. not scream fests.
