This is happening far to often in this country. Is this big news in Sarasota?

Its pretty scary stuff. Its happened here in CT and all over the country. We're going to retire someday in the Sarasota area and I was a little suprised to see this happen in a retirement type area. The cops are out of control everywhere, apparently.

The America we grew up in lo longer exists. The entire nation is a police state. There was also an instance in NV where the police used a residence without the owners permission to watch a suspect next door.

My first thought was, why didn't she call 911? If I saw a guy with a gun pointed at me, that would have been my first response. No where in the story did she, or boyfriend call the police. She went for her gun. Seems fishy to me.

I think I'd grab my gun first, call 911 second. As the saying goes, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

If Alex Jones could stop being such a nutjob on so many topics, stories like this would not get swept under the rug.

I feel like this country keeps getting close to a free press, but then shoots itslef in the proverbial foot over and over.

Amen. He is a bit of a nut, but every once in a while a real story floats to the top.

These guys were not Sarasota police officers - they were federal deputies:
