As some who frequent this Forum know, we are moving to the Sarasota/N.P. area in two weeks.

I have rented space at Lakewood Self-Storage for our home contents. Our present home owners insurance
will cover our goods until we arrive in FLA. Lakewood Storage offers content insurance, ie-$5000 for $20/mo. and goes up from there.
Another company offers similar, $40,000 for $140/mo. NO flood though.

Facility is gated, cameras and on site manager.

Didn't find much on a Forum search.

Anyone familiar with others? Thanks for any help.

The no flood coverage is scary. Flood zones are pretty randomly distributed and a lot of flood zones are far inland. Do you know how to access the fema flood maps. I would want to make sure that the facility I chose was at least in a zone C. BTW, fema's flood information is much better for Bradenton than Sarasota. The new info for Sarasota doesn't come on line til next spring.

I did check their address, not in a flood area. Although I'm sure heavy rains could make it a flood area. We are going to keep everything up off the concrete floors as some precaution.

I did find a few more places for content insurance, will contact them next week.

Hopefully our stuff won't be in storage too long as we search for a house

Thanks
