Does anyone have any recommendations? I know prices vary widely where I used to come from. This is not a complex problem so I just need a nice vet that will not rip me off.

Fairfax mom

Not sure why you are not getting any suggestions. I don't think it is because people don't have pets.

On our last trip, we asked a waitress about the location of the farmers market. She told us the location and added "you have to take a blankey blank dog to get in." When we looked confused and surprised, she clarified that everyone in Sarasota had a blankey blank dog and took their dogs everywhere. Needless to say when we went to the farmers market, we looked at dogs, and there were tons of them.

Indeed almost everyone had a dog. These dogs looked well cared for and loved. After the farmers market we had lunch at an sidewalk restaurant. There were 9 dogs under the next table. Yes-nine- that is not a typo. And they we all dressed in identical costumes--except the boy dog costumes did not have skirts like the girls. But they all had jackets and hats. Unbelievable.

There have to be lots of vets. Maybe just not cheap or near your location.

"Cheap" isn't a word used with "Vet", unfortunately. My husband calls our vet, "The Money Pit".

After my vet visit today - I know I have not found the "cheap" one yet. I am surprised since there are so many vets around - you would think the prices would be lower but I guess some people consider their pets their grandkids and no price is too high.

Dr. Gingerich at Angel Animal Clinic in North Port is SUPER!!!!! I absolutely love him and his staff!! In my opinion, his prices are reasonable!
