I see the parking lots filling up and the shelf's are bare. Lots of blue hairs starting to roll in. How are the stores in your area? You have to try to find a walmart or public's that is not as heavily assaulted by the WFG crowd. All the good stuff is taken and shelf's at the supermarket look like Swiss cheese, with holes all over where the most popular things were once stocked. LOL But if it makes the Fla economy come roaring back so be it. And they are better than the spring break crowd.

You're being mean-spirited. I don't see a bunch of over-70's coming here to critique your misuse of apostrophes.

Let's call them snowbirds, and let's treat them with a little respect until they do something to warrant otherwise, and then let's ask ourselves why we live here if we hate them so much.

Jeez.

They could take their money some where else and stimulate some one else's economy.

I have never experienced the snowbird migration. Do they really clean out the store shelves that much? I would think the stores would be better prepared.

For many years, I lived in a SoCal beach city that was overtaken by people escaping the AZ heat in the summer. Our town doubled in population in the summer but the stores took it in stride and we never experienced stock shortages.

Is the stock shortage temporary? Do the stores get it together?

You can't take the original post seriously re supermarket stock. I can't believe how trivial the criticism of snow birds can get.

Silly me, I thought the WFG crowd was the World Financial Group. I guess Snowbirds are.

There is no "stock shortage." Someone is over exaggerating.

Nothing changes with shelf stock whatsoever. It's the parking lots and traffic that you'll notice. Oh, and the increased grocery prices during snowbird season.

I have special Snowbird shutters on my house, and always keep a full tank of propane around. A generator is a must.

When they get totally out of hand, I fill the bathtubs and switch to short wave radio.

This is a photo of me on the bridge near my house during last winter's high season:
