Hi,
I'm transferring from NJ to work at Trader Joe's in Sarasota. I'm looking to rent a 1bedroom ideally for March 1st. My ideal area is as close to the store as possible (34231), but my rent is maxed at $700 (it's a great place to work but we make bupkus). I've done an obsessive amount of research but there doesn't seem to me much in my price range in that locale. Any suggestions?

Also, do folks post "For Rent" signs on properties? Here you can drive around and find places in that fashion.

I thank you in advance for your help!

BB

Yes, there are some for rent signs, but you're right, $700. isn't good. Do you have the job for sure? Do you have enough saved so that you can live on it for 5 or 6 months if things don't go as planned when you get here? If not, you should save until you do before you move. Keep looking for an apt. in your range, it will be tough to find, but you might come up with something. You might consider Bradenton, I think you'd have a better chance of finding something you can afford.

Tuscany is a nice complex. I took guitar lessons from a guy in there for a little bit. Clean units, well maintained. Cant speak for the price range, though. That'd put you 8 miles to Trader Joe's.

Thanks! It's a bit out of my price range, though.

You might try searching the public version of our MLS for one bedroom condo rental listings. It is at Your Real Estate Network.

Go on Craigslist & look to share a house in that area; you're moving into SRQ at high season with high rent...that's why I suggest looking for a house share.

.
8 miles as the crow flies. Half hour if you go Tuttle, maybe 45 minutes via 41.

8 miles the way google maps turn by turn directions flies. But still, a 15-18 minute drive.
