Looking to buy about 15 Areca Palms or something pretty close. Can someone suggest a good source to buy in quanity? I've been to both Home Depot and Lowes but the picking are slim. Any help would be appreciated.

I and my neighbor planted a bunch of Areca 15 years ago. That's when a 3 gal container was $4 They now have 3 inch thick stalks and are 15 feet tall. Last fall some of them had seed pods and now I have hundreds of seedlings about 8 inches tall. I transplanted many of them in pots to cultivate.
Try looking at old fashioned nurseries for quantity and lower costs.

I did a search on Craigslist but everything was either north in St. Pete or down in Cape Coma.i'm trying to get some in the 4-5' range in height so we can plant them ourselves.

Default Areca Palms

Areca palms are popular for a tropical screening effect. Almost every nursery carries them. Seven gallon plants should get you 4'-5', they run about $28. Fifteen gallons should get you 6'-7', $65, Twenty-five gallon, 8'-10', $105.

I enjoyed your website. On each of my trips to Sarasota, I have bought books at Selby Gardens about what trees and plants do well in Sarasota. These books seem not to be specific enough because the zones change so quickly. Trees that will bloom in Florida north of Sarasota won't bloom in Sarasota. And trees that can tolerate the cold just south of Sarasota are at risk in Sarasota. I appreciate that you list is area specific.

The preferred trees are very different from those that grow in the upper midwest and on the west coast. Everything I know about gardening is useless in Florida. So thanks for the link.
