Our pool is 13,000 gallons with a cage. We have a very large oak that drops pollen onto our cage and into our water on occasion. Just some background-- haha

So the other night we put on our jacuzzi jets--they seemed clogged, but it has been a while, they began running normally. The next morning we wake to find our pool INFESTED with what looks like noseeums! They are covering the top of the pool, like microscopic bugs huddling together. They look like teeny yellow specs. They are also all over our brightly colored thermometer and chlorine floater. You can't see them unless you look very closely--and they sting or bite!! Pool guy at pinch a penny was clueless. We did as they suggested and did mutation acid and chlorine shock--they are still there!!!

What are they ? Thrips ? Midges?? Only thing surrounding our pool is a rock edging and yard.

Do you turn on pool lights at night? I've found leaving them on attracts insects.

Did a quick internet search on this & saw where people had added Avon's Skin So Soft to their water (this stuff is legendary) & had results with killing them.
