Stupid is paying higher electric bills, higher taxes in the form of CDD fees, and paying higher energy costs in the form of waiting in traffic congestion in Stepford Ranch.

Argument completed and won. Continue.

You haven't won anything as far as I'm concerned. Electric bills will be fine either way as I built a very energy efficient home. Taxes and insurance aren't bad. They were higher on my smaller, older house when I lived in Heathrow Country Club (near Orlando) for 12 years. Other fees come with the territory of living in a nice area. Someone has to pay to keep things looking pristine and that is the residents. Traffic has been fine. The amenities way outweigh the little bit of traffic that I have encountered.

So, it seems to me, you lost once again. In fact, I haven't seen one argument of yours where you actually did win.

Well said OKCsteel. I completely agree with everything you said. If the price to pay to live in such a nice area is higher electric and fees in the support of the infrastructure and neighborhood aesthetics, it's well worth it.

It's funny the only ones who have an issue and complain about the traffic are those that don't live here it seems. LWR is such a huge area and if there are a few lights you have to stop at, that's life, not traffic congestion.

FYI, I'm from Lake Mary too.

Thanks in advance!
I have peace river in Palmetto Fl. I downgraded from a 2200 SF home 17 FT cathedral ceilings, with a 3 1/2 ton AC and single pane windows to a 1600 SF home, double pane windows, less windows in home, 2 1/2 ton AC and I PAY DOUBLE what I used to pay IN DECEMBER!

I have NEVER paid more than $175 for electric in my LIFE (2102) IN SUMMER and now with Peace river I paid $235 IN WINTER!!

I have NEVER seen anything like it, I am investigating and researching because unfortunately WE HAVE NO CHOICE that to take it up the tailpipe! It's like living in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY dictatorship!

PRECO is a greedy company that charges more than Connecticut Light and Power without giving 1/10 of the Quality & Service. After Constant power interruptions, they offered "total house" surge suppressors. In the last 10 months I have had to set all 8 devices with clocks 34 times.

My attorney has suggested that I install a housewide battery backup and charge PRECO. in the snows up North, there has never been more than 3 outages a year. In places where its more than that, the electric is housed underground etc. The money is there for betterment not corporate bonuses.

Really disgusting

Surge suppressors only protect against most spikes in power. They are not the same as a UPS. Although I feel your pain, I don't think you can get PREC to pay for a whole house UPS. If you are successful, post it here because I think a lot of people would love to know.
