The powerboat races and other events will take place in February along the Bradenton Riverwalk park. If you have not been yet, it's a beautiful place for walking.

By the way, yes, I not only am familiar with the music of Jefferson Starship, I was a fan of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love."

No, the event takes place in February, as part of the powerboat races. From what I have read elsewhere it is most of the original band, but I don't think Grace Slick is still with the group. Which is a shame.

They were my first concert ever in Central Park in NYC. I was 14 and it was 1976. Nice to see we are both still going strong.

Thanks - I too saw them in NYC - but at the Fillmore East. The lights were out. The movie started - showing King Kong climbing up the Empire State Building, carrying the blonde. The airplanes fired at him and he gently placed his "love" down, while he tried to fight back, but finally fell to his death. The line, "It wasn't beauty that killed the beast" and then the drums started up and the lights slowly came up and there was the Airplane, to make our night wonderful...Probably "Somebody to Love".

Thanks for answering - I'll look forward to it even if it is a jazz band now.
