Went to Wawa today. Gas prices higher than 3 stations on SR-64 passed on the way there, but only by a few pennies.

Place was packed.

Not much of convenience, only a few aisles of stuff to buy.

Most of the coffee dispensers were empty. Ice coffee dispensers empty. Employees running around like crazy. Floors dirty as all hell and bathroom hadn't been cleaned in a week it looked.

Meatball sub burned.

Chicken something sub wife had contained chicken that tasted like it was out of a can, and dry and crusted instead of fresh and tender. Their sauteed onions were freshly sliced and not sauteed at all, just an onion off the shelf cut and served.

Menu was not exactly amazing, just subs and some breakfast bowls.

I don't quite understand the idea behind this place. The new RaceTrack on US41 is way nicer, more products, hell, it even has frozen yogurt dispensers and a full mexican food area, as well as a full coffee/beverage counter.

I don't think we'll be back.

Well, BeninFL, it doesn't sound like the new place has their act together yet. The Wawas up north are clean, have great fresh sandwiches, gourmet coffees and yummy frozen concoctions, and run like a well-oiled machine. I would have to go to this one to compare it. Also, I've never been to a RaceTrac to compare that either. Up north at least in the Philly area, the only other 24/7 convenience store is 7-11, which are depressing dumps compared to Wawa. I'm kind of afraid to go to this Wawa as it sounds like I'll be disappointed. Maybe I'll wait til the initial crowds clear out.

Even if they "clean up" their act, the lack of selection of food makes me not really have a reason to bother to go there unless its the closest gas station and I need a fillup.

I agree mostly with Ben. The service is terrible, you'll be in a line waiting for sandwiches watching one person make them, two people just refilling the stations, and one person baking frozen bread. I liked Wawa in PA but was never obsessed, but here its meh. Coffee is the same, but in a little corner as far away from the register as possible.

I personally think they are cleaner than any depressing Hess, 7-11, etc and have a better sandwich selection but I'd never seek it out.
