Does anyone else wonder where this year went? Hard to believe we are talking about New Year's Eve celebrations. Anyway, here are the weekend and New Year's Eve events that I found. I know a lot of small restaurants and bars have their own New Year's celebrations, but I tried to stick to the larger events in our area.

Sarasota Jungle Gardens Holiday Lights -- last weekend, runs 6 - 9 pm, holiday lights decorate the Jungle Gardens, special events and regular shows. Adults $11, children 3-12 $6.

Downtown Sarasota -- starts at 12 noon & runs until 1:30 am. Childrens rides & games, midway, food vendors, 4 stages with live bands. Family friendly until evening, becomes more of an adult event then. The pineapple drops at midnight.
Downtown Bradenton -- starts at 4 pm & runs until midnight. Street vendors, food, live music and street dancing.
Billed as "The Best New Year's Eve Party in Sarasota" -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorim, runs 9 pm - 2 am, 2 bands, bar, appretizers, desert & coffee bar after midnight. Tickets $125/person
