Recently bought a condo and would like more patio door security. Has anyone seen the device in the attached pictures? They seem the best design I have seen:

Yeah... so why lock your car doors when someone could just break the glass, right?

Then, the alarm system will go off. Spend the money to make it the place that burglers pass on.

oh, you mean let the grass grow, the bushes die off, and shoot some holes in the windows?

Burglars are not crazy about making their presence known, so busting out sliding glass doors is not a method of choice. stealthy is better.

I found a new set of locks that seems to work well for me. They're not cheap, but I think worth it.

Those look pretty good. All I know is that whatever lock you get, make sure it prevents them from lifting up the door off the track. That is the preferred break-in method....said the cops who did my crime report a number of years back following the break-in burglary.

I havent performed an actual destruct test, but I've gone pretty far into it and believe these locks will prevent the actual door from being lifted off

Lots of comments but nobody has seen these. They do keep the doors from being lifted and are pretty easy to install. Keeps the semi honest people honest. The rest will get it someway.

the easy way to stop doors being lifted is...slide one along, screw a screw into the head track...slide it back...now it cant be lifted

We use the patio door lock pins. We put one in each slider.
You can get them at Home Depot - Search Results for*patio door lock pins*at The Home Depot

Then we also have the patio door loop lock for the side that actually has the lock.
You can get them at Home Depot - *The Home Depot

Home Depot has several styles to choose from.
