Who is excited? As a newcomer, I am loving having a winning team to root for.

I can't say I'm a hockey fan but I watched back in 2005 and loved it all the way thru the cup. For some reason, it couldn't hold my interest after that but this playoff and final has me back. I guess it's not as much about being a team fan for me as it is about rooting for the home team win and the win for the area.

It's the same with soccer. Not really a fan but I really enjoy rooting for the USA World Cup teams.

Football and baseball are different for some reason.

People we run into on the street seem very enthusiastic. Some Chicago fans are not so excited.

they're not allowed to be, or they'll be arrested and taken off the streets.

Talk about good sportsmanship.

GREAT sport to watch live. On TV, not my cup of tea.

As someone who currently lives 50 miles outside Chicago, but who plans to (soon?) live in the Sarasota / Venice area, I don't know which team to root for!

Actually, neither my wife or myself watch hockey. We happen to hear the scores if we have the news on in the background while we're sitting here, working on our laptops.

But I can tell you this... We'd rather be sitting on a Florida beach!

That's what everyone plans to do when they move to FL. But most folks rarely go to the beach.

I'm glad you wrote this. I am amazed at the announcer's skill at not only being able to follow the action from a booth but to be able to instantaneously recognize and announce the player's names the way they do while still picking up on the nuances of the game. I don't think any other sports broadcasters can compare. As I've said, I'm only a passing fan and obviously didn't grow up in that culture but I have complete admiration for those guys and I hope they are recognized within the biz for their talent.

I'm watching a fairly large screen from about 10' away and I STILL can't follow the action at times.
