In North Port, do you need a permit to put up a fence line across the back of your property? What is the process to get one if needed.

Did you check the city web site? Is there an HOA?

No HOA but I did check the city, they do require a permit. If its in my home or rental I don't get a permit, what I do in my property is no business of the gov. I have replaced water heaters ect and they don't need to know. A fence it out in public. They want all kinds of things, I think if you breath in Sarasota they want a permit. From what I can find you may need a permit to paint your home. LOL Fat chance of that ever happening. If I want to paint my home I will paint my home and no fat ass gov. offical will tell me different.

I have never lived anywhere where a permit wasn't required for a fence. There are usually height limits also, HOA or not.

Glad this house is in North Port
You do understand that if you install the fence without a city permit, you can be issued a summons and likely fined, and if the fence is not to code, you will have to take it down...

You are not so special you are exempt from the laws that others live under.
Maybe a troll just trying to jack people's blood pressure--I don't know.

I've read some of your other posts, so I guess this is just feeding the troll. Why did you bother to ask the question if you are going to whatever you want anyway, government be damned?

If you don't want the government telling you what to do, maybe you should go homestead some land in Alaska, or move to an undeveloped country, where no one will care about your fence or your house paint. If you insist on living amongst civilized people. They are going to care about what you do to their property values.

I guess you have only lived where the gov is very restrictive. I have lived from Northern Mich, no permit required to paint or put up a fence to Arkansas and Kansas and parts of Florida none required a permit for a fence. Its not one damn thing to do about safety or any care the GD Gov has for the City, its about money and money only, if anyone does not get that they are dumb as a box of hammers. If the city of NP really cared about how something looked then it would stop all the idiots from using their lawns as a mud bogging 4x4 swamp run. Or having their front lawn used as a used car lot or any number of other things that make places look like crap. Safety has nothing to do with it. Just like painting your home. LMAO if you buy that crap no one can help you and you are and always will be a sheeple.

you know, I would call myself as far from being a lefty liberal government lover as can be, and I have been known to use some bad language on more than one occasion, but is there really a need to be so offensive ? Women and I guess kids may read these forums, using a word like that isn't necessary.
