The weekend is upon us and time once again for the list of events going on in and around the Bradenton - Sarasota - Venice area:
THUNDER BY THE BAY
Thousand of motorcycles take over downtown Sarasota for the weekend.
Thunder By The Bay :: Home
Events include:
Thursday -- Born to Be Wild Kick Off Party at Sarasota Ford dealership, 7 pm - midnight, tickets $100/person.
Friday -- Hogs on Hillview Bike Show, 6 - 11 pm, free admission, food vendors, on Hillview Street off of US41, south of downtown.
Saturday & Sunday -- several downtown streets are blocked off to traffic and taken over by motorcycles, live bands, food & drink vendors. Great street party, sort of a kinder and gentler version of Daytona's Bike Week. Saturday 11 am - 11 pm, Sunday 11 am - 6 pm. Please be careful where you park -- the police department likely will be issuing tickets if you park in no parking zones, they have in years past.
Sunday -- 17 Class Bike Show, So. Palm Ave. in downtown Sarasota, 11 am - 1:30 pm.

Anna Maria Island Privateers Thieves (flea) market -- over 100 vendors, plants, food, crafts, etc. Coquina Beach, 8 am - 3 pm.

Coquina Beach Winter Fest -- Anna Maria Island's Coquina Beach, 10 am - 4:30 pm, free admission, music, crafts vendors, food vendors, entertainment.
SUNDAY
Jewish Food Festival -- specialty foods, health fair, crafts/jewelry/books/plants vendors. Also collecting non-perishable food items for All Faiths Food Bank. Free admission. Temple Sinai in Sarasota, 9 am - 3 pm.
Circus Ring of Fame Induction Ceremony -- at the St. Armands Circle park, 1:30 - 3:30 pm.
Siesta Key Drum Circle -- held each Sunday just before sunset at the Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.
UPCOMING EVENTS WORTH MENTIONING:
Manatee County Fair starts next weekend.
47th annual Devereaux-Kaiser Classic Car Show is January 31st on Rangeland Pkwy in Lakewood Ranch.
This is one of the largest car events on the SW coast of FL.
