You should check with HUD. They handle section 8 housing, and can tell you where the apartments are that provide for section 8 housing. The HUD office in the area where you're looking can tell you, and also help arrange a place for you if you qualify. I'm sure you must know about that, since you are asking about a specific program.

i already didn't want to move as it was, and this sure isn't helping. seriously, is there anything good about this town? we don't make too much so we can't afford to move in to some nice ritzy area, and we sure as hell don't want to live in a crappy area, but from what i am reading bradenton pretty much has the rich area, the crappy area, and the even crappier area.

and not only could we probably not afford the nicer area, but we don't want to live by the beach, which, from what i've read, basically means we'll be stuck in a ****ty area.

i don't want anyone to lie and tell me the place is great, but can some of you who LIVE in the area (not just people that have been there once or twice and had a bad experience) give me the rundown of bradenton and the surrounding cities?

i don't know what worries me more, all the bad things i've read about, or the fact that i haven't read a single GOOD thing about the town...

thanks in advance.
My opinion is don't do it! We just cannot wait to leave...but with the real estate market????

So obviously, the cities themselves aren't at fault, but the criminals that commit crimes in those cities.

My personal feeling is that Bradenton can not control its crime.

I'd say any city that has any crime at all can't control its crime...NYC can't control its crime either.

I grew up in Bradenton and some people on here have no idea what they are talking about. If anyone says Orlando is safer than Bradenton then they're not lookin at the amount of violent crimes commited. There may be a crappy side of town but every city has that. I currently live in orlando and can not wait to move back to Bradenton. Seriously?? Orlando safer than Bradenton...? NO. In addition, I'm origionaly from Detroit and it you want to see "crime" go there! Stop complaining, your blessed with sun everyday and at the most 20 minutes from a beautiful beach.
