It's time once again for the list of events going on in and around the Bradenton - Sarasota - Venice area this weekend. Quite a variety of things to do, warm & sunny flip flop weather all weekend as you head out to any of the following:


FRIDAY


Lakewood Ranch's Music on Main Street -- live music, kids activities, street party. Dogs on short leashes welcome but not coolers, 6 - 9 pm.

The Rite Music -- Sarasota Orchestra Masterworks at the Van Wezel, 8 pm, tickets from $33.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Sarasota, Florida

Sandfest Dinner & Party at Siesta Key Pavilion -- Flashback to the 80's. Dinner, music, dancing, cash bar, silent auction. 6 - 10 pm. Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce members $25/person, non-members $35/person. Siesta Key Public Beach Pavilion. Info: 349-3800.



FRIDAY - SATURDAY

Festival of the Skeletons -- at the Bradenton Village of the Arts. Fri 6 - 9:30 pm, Sat 11 am - 4 pm.



FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Gem, Jewelry & Bead Show -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm. $5/adult.



SATURDAY AND SUNDAY


Sarasota Medieval Fair -- jousting, knights, human chess tournament, rides, games, food & Celtic music. New this year: Artisan Marketplace. 10 am - 5:30 pm each day. Adults $16.95, Seniors/Students $14.95, ages 5-12 $8.95 & ages 4 & under get in free. Sarasota County Fairgrounds.
Welcome to the Sarasota Medieval Fair!

Stone Crab Festival -- Food, music, kids zone & lots of fresh stone crabs. Cortez Fishing Village in west Bradenton, 10 am - 6 pm.

Venice Art Festival -- downtown Venice on W. Venice Ave, 10 am - 5 pm, over 150 artists/vendors.

Nathan Benderson Park Rowing Festival -- vendors, live music, kid zone, beer garden. Free admission, not sure if parking is free. Sat 10 am - 5 pm, Sun 10 am - 2 pm.




SATURDAY

Ferraris at St. Armands Circle -- exotic car show, 10 am - 4 pm, free admission.

Pinecraft Christmas -- all local and US made crafts & gifts, kettle corn, quilting. 9 am - 4 pm, 3737 Bahia Vista in Sarasota.

Hispanic Fall Festival -- music, food, activities. St. Jude Catholic Church grounds, 3930 17th St in Sarasota, 10 am - 6 pm.

Let Freedom Ring Concert -- patriotic music, free admission, 7:30 pm at Manatee High School auditorium in Bradenton.

A Taste of Mixon's -- Sample treats such as fudge, honey, cheese, wine + a chili cook-off. Sampling is free, $3/person for the chili cook-off. Mixon Fruit Farm, Bradenton. Mixon Fruit Farms - Bradenton Florida Fruit Shipper

Fall Family Festival -- games, arts & crafts, kayaking, kids workshop, live music. Little Sarasota Bay at Bay Preserve in Osprey, 11 am - 3 pm.

Moonlight Movies -- showing of Aladdin. Bring your picnic basket and beach chairs, starts at sunset, free admission, Siesta Key Beach by the Pavilion.

The Great Pumpkin Pie Bake-Off -- open for ages 9 & up, enter your best pumpkin pies. At Beerys, 2656 Mall Drive, Sarasota. Registration 3 - 3:45 pm, tasting 4 - 6 pm ($5/person to taste). Contest rules and info at www.mrbeerysrq.com

Snooty's Gala Fundraiser for the South FL Museum -- raffle, silent auction, dinner & music, black tie event. $200/person, starts at 6 pm, South FL Museum in Bradenton.


SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm.

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Sarasota's Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team performs their water ski show at 2 pm. Behind Mote Marine at 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy.

Eclectic Fall Garden Music Series at Selby Garden -- each Sunday thru Nov. 13th, 1 - 3 pm. Free admission for Selby members, others $20/adult, children 4 - 17 years of age $10.
