wow - who would want to live there? Bunch of drunks and druggies
I haven't been to Siesta in years - that place is WAY too crowded. I can't imagine what this new show is going to do........

I think college kids -- if they come down here -- will feel like they've been duped. There's no real nightlife. Unless they are kids who like doing stuff outdoors .... but if they are typical binge drinkers, well, they can stay in their rented condos I guess.

...probably nothing ~ spring break, Memorial Day, 4th of July Labor Day are when extra security is on the key ~ also, it's not the under 30 crowd as much as you think it is, we see the tapes during spring break & the inebriated parents are particularly a new breed on the club scene.

They'll generate internal drama by packing a bunch of nuts together and giving them booze. Don't need nightlife to fuel that. Plus pack the cast with beach boss and there is the other part of the show.

I understood the show to be freshman coming home from their first year in school. I might be wrong but that sounds like under age 21 to me.Just another way to get people to watch TV.

When you live on Siesta Beach in those three story houses between the public beaches and the village, then yeah its a excellent party logistics. Siesta Beach is great at night time. During the day I dislke Siesta mostly because of all the people.

However many years ago when the "#1 beach in the world" signs went up on Siesta, that was the beginning of a significant decline in the quality of Siesta. It continued going downhill as they built all the monstrosity of other new facilities.

Spring break week on Siesta Key, for college student, I dunno. Its a family oriented beach. Its not really the best beach for really partying like college kids want to do. That sort of thing is more likely at Tampa and St Pete beaches.

Even though the "elite" kids idea has semi-potential for the Sarasota area, to be perfectly honest elite kids in Sarasota just seems incongruent with MTV, because it is such a high tier network and Sota is still not bringing enough to the table regardless of being billionaire kids.

Default This thread has me worried

I just discovered Siesta Key and we were planning a trip but I'm concerned, thought it was kind of a hidden treasure (even though the beach gets a lot of press) - all the tripadvisor reviews make it sound less busy than Destin.

Does the MTV crowd make it more like Panama?

The kids will get drunk and show their asses.

Murrells Inlet, SC had the same thing happen with Party Down South and quickly changed their laws so they could not film a second season. Then they moved to Destin I believe and Destin quickly adopted the same strict filming laws and the show moved locations again.

I think people have found that MTV filming a reality show in your back yard isn't a good thing.

It certainly did no favors for the Jersey Shore.
