I am out of town this week and am looking for a company or handyman to install my shutters in my absence. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a small bungalow, all shutters and hardware have never been used, should be a simple job.

Lots of people offering on the swap pages but I would be leery. Actually would be more afraid of people knowing you were gone

I'm debating on putting ours, up or not.

98% doing it first thing tomorrow. Not about being tough or a hero, just seemed excessive for 45mph winds here. Now it looks to be a little more severe

Anywhere between Naples and Tampa can have strong surge because no one can say for sure where Irma will goes even at 445 Sat which is SRQ time now...

What they are using are ESTIMATES of,probability models...
The closer Irma is to FL, the more likely accurate strike zone call...
An impact in Ft Myers creates a different storm surge/wind force determination than Port Charlotte, Venice, Naples, or Tampa...

Sarasota county had press conference announcement Fri/yesterday I Think or Thurs and predicted Irma would be a CAT 2 when she came on shore on west coast...and into our area.

That was not a well-considered opinion (IMO) because at that time Irma had barely gotten to Cuba--got there late yesterday-- and had not made her turn. I don't know where they got that info but if they are wrong (and today all predictors say that they are as far as I know) they mislead thousands of,people about the dangerous nature of Irma.

Plenty of people did NOT leave yesterday because of that prediction. A cat 2 is no fun even if lands 150 miles from your house but one landing 50 miles from your house as a Cat3 or 4 is a totally different beast.
