Does anyone have any info about the KeyWest Stye homes in this development? We are looking at signing a purchase agreement for a home that is 1600 sq ft with double garage for $173,000-base price by Neal Communities. We realize the homes are close together but we are nearing retirement and that does not matter. We just want a nice community...new home. How does this sound? The only thing that worries me is the CDD fees. We currently live in Minnesota and can't get a flight down till 1st weekend in April but builder tells us price goes up with every 2 homes sold. So locking in the price with a purchase agrement right now is our only hope of keeping the price. Any advice out there?

Don't be pushed by the builder with that info about prices going up,it is all tactic to get you to buy.The buyer has the power right now,in any community. So don't fall for that buy quick talk.Houses are coming down.
We bought in Florida last year and our house wasn't what I would call cheap because of the place we chose but even so,the prices were dropped from the origional price and I bet if we bought it now,we could have payed even less.
Don't be fooled.
Good Luck.

Id be aware of CDD fees.. I stay away from them, far far away. I have heard horror stories. YOu can find a nice home in Parrish that is not in a CDD community. There are only a few CDD communities in Parrish.. they are prominant around East Bradenton and Sarasota though.. YUCK

Thumbs up a friend has purchased 2 weeks ago

a friend bought there 2 weeks ago, and they won't move in til dec. 08.
they are happy, as the price is reported to have gone up, the only place going up in florida, i might add. there was an article in the sarasota trib last week about that development and rising prices,, you might try to look it up on their web site. i like deed restricted areas, as i live in sarasota, but in the county, and we have cars, boats, trailers, work trucks etc, parked on the street, yards, side yards, etc. but you pay the price. many of your neighbors are not happy about the cheap homes in their subdivisions. But neil homes has a good reputaion in sarasota. good luck!

I think I said, I wish I could afford to live in Gray Hawk... I think it's a beautiful area, just out of my price range. However, if I could afford a home there, I could afford the CDD fees and it might make a difference
