I am looking to redo my landscaping at the house. Is there a market for the existing landscaping, such as 3 dozen hibiscus plants and a 20 foot magnolia tree?

Doubtful, unless one of your community landscapers wants to dig them up and take them off your hands, for free I would suspect.

That 20' Mag will require serious digging/tree extractor and a very heavy move to a flat bed truck or super large pickup...thus, the cost of labor/machine/time means someone might take it for free, but not for payment to you, imo.

Right up there with used clothes and old furniture. And, hibiscus, often planted in crummy looking foundation hedge-like plantings, are ubiquitous in some developments, very inexpensive and don't like being moved when mature in my experience.

If it's a rare or interesting plant, definitely. Call Rob at A Quality Plant in Ruskin - he was just telling us a few months ago how there is a market for people re-landscaping and selling their existing plants. He'll be able to tell you if you're wasting your time or not.

^ The OP's hyacinths and mag are not exactly "rare or interesting", esp the mag in terms of cost of digging up/moving it...

If you don’t want to trash them, which would be a shame, check with neighbors or list on FreeCycle. We did this recently and our plants went to neighbors. If there is a house in your area with an elderly person, you could see if they are interested and plant them for them. Just a thought!
