Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area:



Thru Jan. 21

Manatee County Fair -- all the things you expect to find at a local fair, such as carnival rides & games, fair food, pig races, 4-H & FAA exhibits/ livestock, fair queen pageant and entertainment. 1303 17th St W, Palmetto. Ages 13 & Up $7, Seniors $6, Ages 6 - 12 $5.

FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Sarasota Native American Indian Festival -- native dance, story telling, arts & crafts, food. Fri 9 am - 5 pm, Sat 10 am - 6 pm, Sun 10 am - 5 pm. Sarasota Fairgrounds. Adults $8, ages 6 - 12 $4.

Sarasota Bradenton Spring Home Show -- all things for inside and outside your home. Fri & Sat 10 am - 7 pm, Sun 10 am - 6 pm. Robarts Arena at the Sarasota county fairgrounds.

Bradenton Boat Show -- Bradenton Area Convention Center in Palmetto. Fri & Sat 10 am - 6 pm, Sun 10 am - 5 pm. Adults $5, ages 12 & under get in free.

Sarasota Arts, Antiques & Design Show -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, Fri & Sat 10 am - 6 pm, Sun 12 - 5 pm. Adults $8.

Venice Nokomis Rotary's Fine Arts & Crafts Festival + Rotary Bandana Bash -- Bandana Bash is 3 hours of rock & roll music, food & beer vendors. Venice Airport Festival Grounds, 6 - 9 pm on Friday, `1/19. Arts & Crafts Festival is Sat 9 am - 5 pm & Sun 10 am - 3 pm at the same location, $3/adult, ages under 12 get in free.




SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- old Main Street in downtown Bradenton, 8 am - 2 pm.

Classic Antique Cars, Hot Rods & Customs Show -- St. Armand's Circle, 10 am - 4 pm.

Taste of St. Armand's -- 19 restaurants plus wine/craft beers, 5 - 8 pm, $65/person, $55 in advance.

Sarasota Classic Car Museum Car Show -- locals bring their cars to compete for trophies, music by Lance's Cruisin to the Hop, 10 am - 2 pm.

Childrens Gasparilla Event -- Tampa, Bayshore Blvd. Alcohol free, family friendly version of the pirates invasion of Tampa with childrens parade and events, fireworks at dark. 11 am - 7:30 pm.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Sarasota Seafood & Music Festival -- seafood & other food vendors, bands, arts & crafts, kids activities. 10 am - 6 pm each day, Gulf Stream at Coconut.



SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).

Polo at the Sarasota Polo Club, Lakewood Ranch -- 1 pm, gates open at 10 am. Adults $10, children under 12 get in free. University Pkwy east to right on Lorraine Rd.

Joy of Jazz concert -- Venice's Centennial Park at the gazebo, bring lawn chairs, 7 - 9 pm.



UPCOMING EVENTS WORTH MENTIONING


1/27 Gasparilla -- Ye Mystic Krewe at Gasparilla invades Tampa and takes over the city for the day. Pre & post parties at Curtis Hixon Park, McDill Park and Riverwalk. 9 am - 9 pm, invasion starts at 11:30 am with parade along Bayshore Blvd following surrender of the city.
