I'm wondering if there are any teachers from Manatee or Sarasota County? I am certified in elementary education, special education, and English as a Second Language. I retired from teaching from another state, but am interested in returning to education now that our family has settled in our new community. I would love to know if anyone has information about the districts, particularly information about the ESL programs and how those services are delivered. I have accessed information on both districts websites. Thanks for any information you are able to share!

Don't need more applicants moving to SRQMana looking for teaching posts - that's what you'll discover - you might also search this forum because this question has been asked a zillion times - we already have a plethora of "former teachers" looking for posts here - and we have a backlog of subs as well - I would suggest tutoring perhaps on your own schedule

You can't get hired with years of experience at a public school, all they care about is paying as little as possible. Maybe a private school, but they won't have ESL or special ed. Why not volunteer at a school? Tuttle Elementary has a big volunteer program, and most of their kids are ESL.
