Hi Everyone,

Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area:



FRIDAY

Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch -- street party with live music, family friendly events, 6 - 9 pm, LWR Main Street.

Moon Over Myakka Concert -- starts at 7 pm, bring lawn chairs and your own refreshments. $20/person, no park entrance fee if arriving after 5 pm. Myakka State Park, 13208 State Rd 72.



FRIDAY - MARCH 4TH

Circus: Big Top Performances -- featuring Bello Nock & Nik Wallenda. Tent is located on the SE side of University Town Center. Ticket info, performance times & other info at https://circusarts.org/




SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- old Main Street in downtown Bradenton, 8 am - 2 pm.

Shark's Tooth 10K Run -- starts and ends at Venice Airport Festival Grounds, registration fees required, check in starts at 5:30 am. Run starts at 7:30 am. More info at: Shark's Tooth 10K

Anna Maria Island Heritage Day -- Settler's Market (selling bread, honey, herbs, produce), live music, settler era crafts & demonstrations, old fashioned kids games. 9 am - 3 pm, Anna Maria Island Museum on Pine Ave.

Art Slam -- showcasing student art, live performances, music, etc. 9 am - 4 pm, downtown Bradenton on Old Main St.

Pirate Fest -- Pittsburgh Pirates autographs, games & prizes, music. 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, game (Pirates vs Phillies) starts at 1:05 pm. LECOM Park, Bradenton.

Gamble Plantation annual spring open house -- tours are free, music, arts & crafts, Civil War demonstrations, 10 am - 3 pm, Ellenton on US301.

Sun Circle Art Festival -- showcasing 70+ artists works, food, live music. 10 am - 5 pm, Sapphire Shores Park on Sun Circle Drive, north of Ringling Museum (west of US41).

Suncoast Blues Festival -- live Blues performances 11 am - 7 pm, gates open at 10 am. Sarasota County Fairgrounds. Tickets $45/person at the gate. More info at: https://www.suncoastbluesfestival.com/

Hometown Fest -- food, craft beers, music, activities. Noon - 4 pm, Nathan Benderson Park. Tickets $25 - $40, children 12 and under get in free.

Berry Fest -- Crafts, kids activities, egg hunt Saturday 1 pm, strawberry shortcake & milkshakes. 10 am - 4 pm, Fruitville Grove, 7410 Fruitville Rd.

Venice Art Classic -- art, photography, glass & other art works for sale. 10 am - 5 pm, downtown Venice on W. Venice Ave.

Lido Tides Arts & Crafts Show -- on Ben Franklin Ave, 10 am - 4:30 pm.

Paws in Motion Walk-a-Thon -- fundraiser for the Humane Society of Manatee County -- meet up at Caddys on the Pointe, 801 Riverside Dr E, Bradenton. 9 am - 1 pm, walk-a-thon begins at 10 am, registration fees required.
Animal shelters are overflowing with cats and dogs this time of year. If you want to add a new pet to your home, please consider one of these rescue animals. Info at:Humane Society of Manatee County | Bradenton, Florida




SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).

Polo at the Sarasota Polo Club, Lakewood Ranch -- 1 pm, gates open at 10 am. Adults $10, children under 12 get in free. University Pkwy east to right on Lorraine Rd.

Baseball: Orioles vs Boston Red Socks -- Ed Smith Stadium, Sarasota, 1:05 pm.

Celtic Woman -- performance at the Van Wezel, 3 pm. Ticket info at: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Sarasota, Florida


PLANT CITY STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL -- runs March 1 - 11 in Plant City (off of I4, east of Tampa). Huge, popular annual event with carnival rides, concerts by headline performers, youth livestock shows, and lots of strawberries/ strawberry shortcake. 10 am - 10 pm each day. Admission $10/adult, $5 children (ages 5 - 12), under age 5 gets in free. Info at: Florida Strawberry Festival – 11-day event celebrating the strawberry harvest of Eastern Hillsborough County
