I used Moovers Inc from NJ they were fantastic! they come and box up stuff for you. loved them. I moved from Buffalo NY to Sarasota. this was in 2012. Yes that's 2 o's

ABF UPack. They deliver a trailer to your place, charge you a base rate, but only charge for space you use. Hire local to load, unload. Cheapest and easiest way.

Here’s a link to the federal regulations on interstate movers. There’s really good information here on your rights and responsibilities during a move and how to protect yourself from fraud. One thing that’s really important is to always get a binding quote from the mover.

We moved here from Syracuse, NY and rented a Penske Truck, packed it up and drove it here ourself and pulled my car behind. You get a AAA discount if you reserve it online.

Thanks for the replies. I went with U-pack. They drop off a trailer that I will be able to pack/load myself. They also have the option of hiring two loaders (not the driver -they're union) for the loading in New York and unloading in Florida... I chose that option as well...

May I ask what you decided doing in New York with the movers? any recommendations? we're taking the pods route to from NY to FL
