Charley went right through that area - almost exactly.

Strangely enough, I can't find records of any wind speeds in Sarasota EVER of over 80 MPH.

I drive by them every day - cheap wood construction - ugly and right on a major road - almost right on the road! You would be a fool to lease there.

I heard the two brand new 3-story buildings were torn down due to mold, but this article says it was rain soaked floor boards...

https://www.yoursun.com/venice/news/...aafe4528a.html

This article also outlines the costs of leases, up front costs, and montly costs. They all sound quite high to me for what you get. I'm sure it will appeal to some, but I don't see this being a long term success.

It doesn't fit what I looking for, the amount of money, terms, and the limitations on guests. Construction doesn't look good to me.

My husband and I have been watching this go up and are amazed that this development could be to Code. It is stick built, too close to a major road that is only going to get busier, and the fencing is an added awful cherry-on-top of a really ugly sundae. Someone is going to get a car in their living room pretty quickly. Whoever approved this should be ashamed.

Agree with majority here. Steer clear. It's wood.

That's why they are targeting out of staters. No one who has lived here would ever buy wood construction.

Just curious - is it stucco over wood frame or something like fiber cement over wood frame?

Stucco over frame strikes me as the worst. And people don't realize that a two story home might be stucco over block on the first floor, but stucco over frame on the second floor. Get ready for the blue tarps.

I wouldn't mind a well built one story wood (or steel) frame dwelling with fiber cement siding, and a well build roof with sufficient window overhangs.

I haven't looked into construction for a long time, but this link (granted, from a builder) seems to confirm

https://refinedexteriors.com/is-fibe...r-than-stucco/

OMG, they are about 3 feet from the road in the one section. Just wow.
