Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend (please note that some of the events require masks):



MARCH 03 - 13

Plant City's FL Strawberry Festival --Carnival rides, livestock shows, concerts ranging from Oak Ridge Boys to Beach Boys, lots and lots of strawberries.



THURSDAY - SUNDAY

Arcadia's 94th All Florida Championship Rodeo -- bull riding, barrel racing & more.

FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Englewood Shrimp & Music Festival -- food, live music, shopping/ vendors. Free admission. Englewood Plaza. Fri 4 - 10 pm, Sat 11 am - 10 pm, Sun 11 am - 6 pm.




SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm. Veggies, organics, fresh eggs, seafood and more.

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

Irish Celtic Festival & Lucky Dog Parade -- huge celebration with dancing, food & of course the dog parade. Lakewood Ranch's Greenbrook Park, free admission, $5 parking, 11 am - 4 pm.

Toast to Venice Wine, Beer & Food Festival -- food & beverage sampling, 2 - 5 pm, $75/person ages 21 & up. Maxine Barritt Park, Venice.

Mote Marine's Party on the Pass -- fundraiser, food stations, silent auction. $125/person, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Mote Marine Acquarium.

Goat Yoga -- yoga with the goats at Fruitville Groves, starts 10:30 am, $30/person. 7410 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota.

Fox Yoga --- yoga & foxes, Big Cat Habitat on Palmer Blvd, starts 10:30 am, $125/person includes access to all the Big Cat exhibits.

Sarasota Cars & Coffee -- car show at UTC, near Ford's Garage in the south end shopping district, 8 - 10 am.




SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Sarasota - Bradenton Triathalon -- open to various age groups, must pre-register to participate in this swim, bike & run event. Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.

Sarasota Open Air Fine Arts Show -- various artisans works on display/for sale. Phillippi Gardens Estate in Sarasota, 10 am - 5 pm, free admission, $5 parking.

Lakewood Ranch Winter Fine Arts Festival -- artisans works on display / for sale. Lakewood Ranch's Main Street, 10 am - 5 pm.




SUNDAY (Don't forget: clocks get set forward 1 hour Sunday at 2 am for Daylight Savings Time)

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Coquina Beach Market -- farmers market at the beach, Anna Maria Island's Coquina Beach parking lot, 10 am - 4 pm (each Sunday thru March).

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Gates open 10 am, matches 1 - 4 pm.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- show at 2 pm, Ken Thompson Park on City Island.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.

Selby Gardens Music Series -- live performances 1 - 3 pm, included in general admission. Located this year at the Historic Spanish Point campus in Osprey.

Jazz in the Park -- kicks off the Sarasota Jazz Festival. Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, 3 - 7 pm, free admission but must pre-register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/free-ja...s-232556311187. Food trucks on site, bring lawn chairs.

Anna Maria Island St. Patrick's Day Parade -- starts at 4 pm at Holmes Beach by the city hall, ends up on Pine to Magnolia at 6 pm.
