For a number of years a pair of ospreys (named by fans as Sara & Sota) have built their annual nest at the local ABC station in downtown Sarasota, which has provided viewers with the "osprey cam" to watch the birds and hopefully see the hatching of their latest egg or eggs.

Here is another, a bald eagle cam located in North Ft. Myers (though it's labeled SW FL eagle cam, so in the same general neck of the woods). It's pretty active, with two eagle chicks about two months old. The story of how the nest and its occupants over the years came to be is on the linked website. There are three cams in total, the first one looks into the nest from about 6 feet above it, and the second and third are looking at the tree where the nest is located.

I think we have bald eagles' nests too located in the trees in the land mass area/mangroves just across the canal from our back yard. We've seen little eagle chick fledglings making their first flying trips out of the nest, and the other day we saw a bald eagle fighting and driving off two smaller birds that I'd guess were predators.

Thanks for the eagles link. I had watched them the other year but had lost the link.
