Has anything really changed other than the beach parking?

Any more stores open? Restaurants open?

Asking because I'm not really seeing a difference ....

I saw restaurant and retailers open all along West Venice Ave downtown Venice yesterday. I do like the idea of closing West Venice Ave off to cars, and allowing the restaurants to increase outdoor seating; at least for a while.

I'd do the same with Main Street in downtown Sarsota, and the street in downtown Bradenton where there's a small strip of restaurants.

Park big heavy city vehicles at both ends to prevent any potential vehicular attack. Increase police presence in these newly created temporary pedestrian zones.

What a difference with the openings. It is great to see people are not afraid to get back out and enjoy.

More changes are coming!

All city of Sarasota tennis courts reopened today to the public.

As of Monday:
