We would always ride our bikes to Crescent Beach. There are tons of places to lock up your bike. We'd wear our chairs like backpacks and put the cooler in the front baskets.

Default Surfers consider the COVID-19 risks of a beach visit

https://www.surfrider.org/coastal-bl...ding-the-risks

<<So when a scientist last week suggested sea spray could possibly expose people to the virus, the controversy just exploded.

Now, after virulent criticism as well as new and rapidly developing information about the pathogen, the researcher is reassessing this hypothesis.

Kim Prather, an atmospheric chemist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, said she still believes there is potential for viral particles to travel farther than six feet in breezy air along beaches, but that new research suggests ocean water may be no more dangerous than it was before the pandemic....

Just last week, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine sent a “rapid expert consultation” letter to the White House advising that SARS-CoV-2 could be spread via bioaerosols generated directly by normal breathing and speaking, in addition to sneeze- and cough-induced droplets....

Past research has shown that certain types of bacteria and viruses get transferred from the ocean into the atmosphere when waves break. >>

I wish these so called 'scientists' would just stop with the 'well meaning' warning already. We can't be anymore scared than we are now, good grief! What next? The air we breathe is dangerous? Oh wait, they already said that!

I suppose you could take your bike into the water with you, but I'd lock mine up to a tree, fence, or handrailing.

Ignore the fear mongering, and carry on. Wear a mask & safety goggles at the beach just to be safe if you are that concerned...I might...have not decided yet. I'll bring them with me, and assess the risks upon arrival.

I think it is kind of like how we hear that basically everything we eat, drink or come into contact with can cause cancer. We all need protect ourselves and our families, but at some you have to live your life also and not be scared of everything and everyone around you.

If they dont open the lots, cars will park along surrounding residential streets.
That’s my situation. I’m a 5 minute walk to the beach on SK. All season from 10a.m. on I’ve got cars parked in front of my house. Sometimes irritating because I get trash thrown on my lawn and some can’t figure out how to park in the street rather than on the grass. Most are respectful though so I try to view it as a small price to pay to be able to walk to the beach and restaurants which I do daily in normal times.

I'm jealous of you. I have the money to live walking distance to the beach, but not the guts. Good for you for not letting fear get in your way.
