If you've lived to 75 your life expectancy is close to 90.

Yes, it's old ( I'm 73 though I don't feel old and have no problems driving) but we're speaking in relative terms here. When you're looking at a population where many of them are in their 80's, approaching 90's, mid 70's is relatively young. I'm amazed at how many of these folks are physically and mentally very active, making positive contributions to their communities, and looking at them, no one would think they're in their 80's.

I'd never call myself young, however, that ship has sailed. I just hope I'm still going strong physically, mentally and emotionally when I hit the 80's. I'm working toward that goal.

Well, I'm about to turn 50, so I can't help with the getting really old part, however, since you seem to be concerned about mobility, and since I am related to the autonmous vehicle industry, I thought I might make a comment anyway.

In the next 5 years, you may see AV shuttles coming to larger communities. In fact, you could even ask about shuttle services and plans for AV shuttles. The Villages has an AV service which is on-demand from your smartphone. And that system was launched a couple of years ago - improvements are rapidly emerging.

Since it is easy to map out a retirement community and the speeds are lower and the situations are less complex than say a downtown urban area, I think these services will increase quite a bit.

Outside of the communities - ridehailing and personal AVs are a going to take a longer time to develop, but I think you'll see a lot more of this over the course of the 2020s.
