Considering selling in the northeast and buying in FL for IMG academy attendance, so looking for a single family home within commuting distance of IMG. Hearing lot's of nice things about Sarasota and will taking a trip down soon to look around. We are late 50s raising a grandchild. Any other suggestions for where IMG parents typically relocate? Many thanks.

Its a modeling agency that started a high school. They now take control of potential celebrities' lives starting in the teen years. Best to get them early. Be easier to mold them, takeover their minds. They will be making the agency money for longer.

Okay I am just kidding. But it definitely is along those lines just not as extreme.

Lakewood Ranch is a rapidly expanding area not far from IMG.

IMG Academy focused on sports. They have a boarding school for grades 6-12 for sports students.

"Located in Bradenton, Florida, IMG Academy is the world’s largest and most advanced multi-sport training and educational institution. Established in 1978 as the Bollettieri Tennis Academy, IMG Academy now spans over 600 acres and continues to evolve and expand as the industry leader for athletic and performance development."

They have added a fashion program for the summers.

"IMG Fashion Camp, founded in 2017, and hosted each summer at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, is a one-of-a-kind week-long experience for teens from all over the world ages 14 to 20, who are interested in learning all there is to know about the fashion industry. Created to inspire tomorrow’s fashion leaders, each camper gains insider insight into the many different career paths within the ever-changing fashion space."

On the map IMG does not appear to be that far from Lakewood Ranch. In real world driving time, dealing with lower speed limits and traffic lights (lots of traffic lights), you're facing a much longer commute time, which is why I would probably recommend looking further west. Sarasota is going to more than double that commute time.

You'll find that a lot of IMG parents live in northwest Bradenton while their students are training at the academy. Probably the closest subdivision of single family homes I can think of near IMG is Glenn Lakes. A lot of people like the Palma Sola area of NW Bradenton off of 75th St W.

El Conquistador community to the south of IMG also offers options, more condos & villas than single family homes usually come on the market there.

Ah, thanks. The post originally came up in the Education forum without any explanation. I see it's been moved to a forum where it's more likely to get some answers!

When we were still looking 2 years ago, we toured Legends Bay in Bradenton. It’s higher end houses and the builder’s realtor went on and on about the many IMG families who live there. We liked the designs and its relatively close proximity to Anna Maria Island. But it’s also built on AE flood zone code (can’t recall the new FEMA code for AE), so we bought elsewhere.

We reside in the Palma Sola Trace community off of 75th Street in West Bradenton. I am aware of several residents with kids enrolled in IMG. It is a community of single family homes, Villa homes, and condo/townhomes. Lagoon style pool, club house. Built on a former golf course.

I work right around the corner from IMG and see students/parents driving in from LWR every morning. It depends on your level of wealth too. There is a development right next to the school where some of the higher wealth parents have set up
