Hmm could holograms be an explanation for some of the UFOs that dart around erratically?

Hologram Experts Can Now Create Real-Life Images That Move in the Air – Like a “A 3D Printer for Light”

https://scitechdaily.com/hologram-ex...for-light/amp/

“What you’re seeing in the scenes we create is real; there is nothing computer generated about them,” said lead researcher Dan Smalley, a professor of electrical engineering at BYU. “This is not like the movies, where the lightsabers or the photon torpedoes never really existed in physical space. These are real, and if you look at them from any angle, you will see them existing in that space.”

“We can play some fancy tricks with motion parallax and we can make the display look a lot bigger than it physically is,” Rogers said. “This methodology would allow us to create the illusion of a much deeper display up to theoretically an infinite size display.”

UFOs are in the news again. There's a new video clip released from 2019 filmed from the USS Omaha Navy destroyer (see below for video clip). There will be a segment on 60 Minutes this coming Sunday about UFOs.

New video taken from USS Omaha shows spherical UFO splash into ocean off San Diego: Ex-fighter pilot says airmen saw unknown aircraft off Virginia coast EVERY DAY for years calling them a 'worrying security threat' ahead of Pentagon report

https://news.google.com/articles/CAI...S&ceid=US%3Aen

- Latest clip shows spherical object dropping into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego in July 2019

- The clip was filmed by USS Omaha Navy destroyer and reportedly part of a same incident revealed in April

- It was leaked hours after a Navy veteran based in Virginia said they could pose a security threat

- Former Navy Lt. Ryan Graves said he and colleagues spotted objects in restricted airspace off the Virginia

- Graves said pilots filmed the sightings but grew so used to seeing them that they took them for granted

- He said the UFOs, seen between 2015 and 2017, have capabilities far in advance of known US aircraft

- An Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force will release a report on 'UAP' sightings next month

I've noticed this is other situations as well, it's interesting, isn't it. Or the video *suddenly* cuts out and the crucial moment is not on camera.

Pentagon confirms authenticity of UFO footage that shows flying object defying the laws of physics

https://www.carolinacoastonline.com/...2df9fe196.html

The Pentagon confirmed footage taken aboard the USS Omaha in 2019 is being investigated by the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force (UAPTF) after Navy personnel recorded video of Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) exhibiting characteristics that defy our current understanding of physics.

Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough confirmed the authenticity of the footage to Daily Caller. She said, “I can confirm that the video was taken by Navy personnel, and that the UAPTF included it in their ongoing examinations.”

Veteran Documentary Filmmaker Jeremy Corbell released footage of what the Pentagon calls a “transmedium vehicle” entering the ocean without damage. The Pentagon uses the term “transmedium vehicle” to refer to an unidentified craft that moves through multiple mediums, such as air, water or vacuum space.

Here's the full segment from 60 Minutes about UFOs that aired this evening:

Navy pilots describe encounters with UFOs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBtMbBPzqHY

Bill Whitaker reports on the regular sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAP, that have spurred a report due to Congress next month.

This video aired today from 60 Minutes Overtime:

Navy pilots recall “unsettling” 2004 UAP sighting

Cmdr. Dave Fravor and Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich were training with the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group when the encounter occurred.

Here's an interesting article that I came across today. Never say never:

Warp drives: Physicists give chances of faster-than-light space travel a boost

https://news.google.com/articles/CBM...S&ceid=US%3Aen

"Two recent papers – one by Alexey Bobrick and Gianni Martire and another by Erik Lentz – provide solutions that seem to bring warp drives closer to reality.

Bobrick and Martire realized that by modifying spacetime within the bubble in a certain way, they could remove the need to use negative energy. This solution, though, does not produce a warp drive that can go faster than light.

Independently, Lentz also proposed a solution that does not require negative energy. He used a different geometric approach to solve the equations of General Relativity, and by doing so, he found that a warp drive wouldn’t need to use negative energy. Lentz’s solution would allow the bubble to travel faster than the speed of light.

It is essential to point out that these exciting developments are mathematical models. As a physicist, I won’t fully trust models until we have experimental proof. Yet, the science of warp drives is coming into view. As a science fiction fan, I welcome all this innovative thinking. In the words of Captain Picard, things are only impossible until they are not."

Mick West is the founder of Metabunk.org, a forum about the debunking of conspiracy theories. He is the author of "Escaping the Rabbit Hole: How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories Using Facts, Logic, and Respect". (This guy makes his living by debunking UFO sightings - so while his theories are interesting - I'm not sure I buy into his explanations either.)

The aliens haven't landed: Why you should be skeptical of recent reports on UFO sightings

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usa...amp/7426795002

Hmm camera artifacts, optical illusions, a balloon, a plane at a distance, motion parallax, a goose. All seem like simple "explanations" - but if true wouldn't this make the US Navy seem kind of "dumb"? I'm very curious what the government report will say in June (if anything).

Here's a link to an interesting article from the San Diego Union-Tribune that goes into great detail about some of Mick West's UFO debunking theories:

Those amazing Navy UFO videos may have down-to-earth explanations, skeptics contend

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.san...cs%3f_amp=true

I thought this part of the article was interesting (see below). Nobody wants to say anything except the eyewitnesses. Military secrets?:

"A spokesperson for defense contractor Raytheon, which designed the ATFLIR cameras, declined to comment and referred questions to the Pentagon. The Union-Tribune also asked UC San Diego, California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to make experts on infrared camera and electro-optic technology available to comment for this story. None did."

I have to admit this particular video from Mick West seems like a convincing explanation for the pyramid UFO video:

"Pyramid UFO" - NEW FOOTAGE. It's Just Bokeh, not a Pyramid

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r2oaQWmqkk

From Mick West:
"New reference footage from night vision monoculars (including the military standard PVS-14) demonstrates pretty conclusively that the supposed flying pyramid UFO actually looks exactly like a slightly out of focus light in the sky - quite possibly just a plane, as the ship was right under a flight path for LAX.

Some of the other lights are identified as Jupiter and some stars.

I don't think that means the Navy got it terribly wrong. This was initially unidentified (with the UAP Task Force Investigates), and they maybe even thought it was a triangle for a few minutes. But it's not. It's just some lights in the sky.

Thanks to Jesse and Stian for the footage, and Dylan_DTV for finding the astronomy match."
