I always thought it was an unlikely choice because most of the food in Italian restaurants is pasta/sauce driven and doesn’t go well (to me) in warmer weather…and weather is warm here 90% of the time
Its the most profitable type of food to sell in a restaurant.

If people won’t eat it, it’s not making anyone any money

The point is that people go to Italian restaurants

I just feel that breakfast places, and Italian is overdone here. I think alternatives could make more money, given the chance.

I'm betting Outrageous Prime will do very well, and if so, that could lead to more variety.

I went to an Italian restaurant today in Venice with a large group for lunch, & only a few ordered an Italian dish. 3/4ths ordered various burgers....at an Italian joint. Anecdotal, but it reinforces my hunch that Italian is overdone here to some small degree. We went there because its one of the nicest atmophere's in Venice, & they have a private room for us. We don't go there for Italian food...there's just not many alternatives.

A few Italian places I see in Venice are not doing well at all. I think 1 or 2 won't make it to the next tourist season.

If Eggstraordinary opens up, I'll try it, but it will have some stiff competition very close by.

correct...also the foodstuffs are readily available with no supply chain issues, the margins are WIDE...for example, a restaurant can buy a dozen of eggs even at Walmart for well under a dollar.

You do the math.

Grits per serving, maybe 2cents

bacon, oh my, cheap as hell

Potatoes per serving, maybe 3 cents

Toast....oh my god

Coffee? cheap as snot per serving, even with "free refills"

Easiest restaurant profile/business model to make "restaurant money"....location is everything!
