I am talking about Bradenton and also she does not live in a trailer park either but a nice area where she splits rent with two other girls.

We have some friends who live in Riverview and they tell us they do not feel safe there.....they have a VERY nice home is a non gated, but an association area.
They always keep the doors locked and the alarm set 24/7.

This is just their opinion, and I would be careful in judging a place based on one family's opinion.

I'm sure there are good people here who can find and post facts on crime in that area.

no place in hillsborough county is truly safe, there is serious and violent crime all over the county, u just have to be careful at all times

safety harbor and dunedin are very nice areas, palm harbour as well but most other parts of pinellas are a crime infested outta control overpopulated zoo, just as bad if not worse than hillsborough

Did you leave your overhead garage door open?? I'm guessing yes. Lots of thugs walk by and grab anything small and worthy or selling, like a weedeater, blower etc.
In 2008 I still find it incredible the number of people who leave their doors unlocked totally when they ARE home. Not smart no matter where you live.

When "buying" into a new area and there's a concern, why not pay a private investigator a couple hundred bucks to provide a REAL report about the area since the police either won't or can't provide one?

Have you ever been to Cape Coral, Florida? Low crime city, really nice area, A+ schools, and close to the beach!!
