I always use Brian Fischer, 727-798-7676 for annual rentals and Connie Nowell for seasonal rentals 941-628-0949. Between the two of them they have most of the rentals in town. They both have websites but I'm not sure if I can post them

SOFLgal, Thanks for your post. I'll keep those numbers for when I am ready. I want to be close to the beach, hiking, biking, roller blading are important. Having a screened in pool, a 2002 or newer home, safety is also a huge issue for us. 4bedrom/3 bath/ 3 car garage. We don't have kids so I am not concerned with schools or daycares,etc.

I really like HomeRentals.net They actually have rentals for most states in the US. And each rental seems to be listed by a property management company. So from the listing you can then click on the property management websites for even more listings in a particular area.Louann Nudi's website: nudionthebeach.com Louann was extremely helpful and friendly and has a great assortment of rentals in the South Sarasota to the North Port area.
