For my part, my participation has declined because the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. During COVID and its lingering travel restrictions, I was home more and had more free time. Now, I am out of town almost every week, and less tied down to a computer for social interaction. More guests come down to visit too.
I am reasonably sure that our resident miscreant keeps a few newbies from posting, but it does not stop them from reading - and they most likely can see right through the facade simply because of the horrific writing style.
Real estate prices are going up again, bidding wars have been rekindled and several old friends from college are moving down here to join me after many years. The lack of participation is not a lack of interest. It is the simple fact people have other things now they can do besides hide in their homes from COVID.

Thx I hadn't though of that (Covid), even though it should be obvious. Some may also be still cleaning up after Ian. 2 homes across the street from me got damaged roof tiles repaired yesterday...the Spanish styled round ones. The flat style cement tiles held up much better.

I wonder if posting to Florida forums is seasonal.
