Hi Everyone,

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:



FRIDAY

Music in the Park -- free music at the Riverwalk amphitheater, Bradenton, 6 - 8 pm. (Last event for the season.)

Spring Benefit Concert -- Performance by the Venice Community Orchestra, Venice's Centennial Park at the gazebo, bring lawn chairs, 6:30 - 8 pm.

Music on Main -- street party at Lakewood Ranch's Main Street, 6 - 9 pm. Food vendors, beer truck, music, rides & kids activities.

Cinco de Mayo Block Party -- live music, food & drinks. street in front of 1355 Main, Sarasota (El Melvin), 11 am - midnight.

Cinco de Mayo Street Carnival -- 1435 2nd St, Sarasota, 3 pm - midnight. Food, drinks, DJ.

Pops Concert at Ed Smith Stadium -- featuring Motown, fireworks at the end of the concert. Starts 8 pm, tickets $15 - $50, $5 parking.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

UTC Fit -- free outdoor fitness workout event, 9:30 - 10:30 am, The Green at University Town Center Mall.

Music at Hart's Landing -- free music starts at 7 pm, 920 John Ringling Causeway.

Bent Tree Charity Golf Tournament -- teams compete 10 am - 3 pm, preregistration & fees required, fundraiser for pediatric cancer research.

Treat Yourself Like a Queen Womens Expo -- contests, raffles, food & drink, 10 m - 3 pm, UTC mall.

Taco Fest -- over 70 food vendors, entertainment, kids zone, petting zoo. 12 - 7 pm, Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto. Adults $10, Seniors $5, Vets - free, ages 13 & under free.

Fruit Tree Sale -- huge outdoor fruit tree sale at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch. 9 am - 3 pm, free admission. Also selling herbs, tropical vegetables, rare plants.

Corvettes on the Circle -- car show at St. Armands Circle, 8 am - 3 pm.

Venice Museums Day -- free event at the Venice Museum & Historic Train Depot 10 am - 2 pm, free trolley between sites.

Pops Concert at Ed Smith Stadium -- featuring Motown, fireworks at the end of the concert. Starts 8 pm, tickets $15 - $50, $5 parking.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Repticon Bradenton -- all things reptile, vendors. Online ticket sales only, $6 - $12. Sat 9 am - 4 pm, Sun 10 am - 4 pm. Bradenton Convention Center in Palmetto.



SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Polo match 1 - 3:30 pm, various ticket prices.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote.

Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.

Forgot to mention a Tampa event on Friday & Saturday: Riverfest

Friday: Friends of the Riverwalk - A Taste of Tampa -- local restaurants offer up samples 5:30 - 9 pm, Curtis Hixon Park. $20/5 samples

Saturday: River Fiesta -- tent full of tacos for purchase. 11:30 am - 9:30 pm. $15 for 3 tacos, bowls, nachos | $20 for 5 tacos, bowls nachos. Curtis Hixon Park.

Saturday: Yoga in the Park -- free event 9 - 10 am. Curtis Hixon Park.

Saturday: Wiener Dog Derby -- There’s a running race, best costume contest, best kisser contest. Starts 10 am, Curtis Hixon Park. Free admission.

Saturday: Riverfest Market -- new addition to the event, lots of vendors, 11 am - 5 pm, Water Works Park.

Saturday: Lantern Making Workshops -- create your own lantern to participate in the Lantern Parade. 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Water Works Park.

Saturday: Lantern Parade -- 8:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to design their own paper lanterns and join a one-mile parade march from Water Works Park to Curtis Hixon Park. Lantern kits $35 each.

Friday & Saturday: Hot Air Balloon Glow -- hot air balloons light up the sky. 8:30 pm, Curtis Hixon Park.

Friday & Saturday: Riverfest Concert Series -- live music both days, Curtis Hixon Park. Fri 5:30 - 10 pm, Sat
1 - 10:30 pm.
