Hi Everyone,

Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend:



FRIDAY

Home & Hurricane Expo -- lots of info on hurricane season, preparations, etc. Venice Community Center, 9 am - 3 pm, free admission.

St. Pete: Sunset Food Truck Rally & Craft Beer Fest -- at Albert Whitted Park 5:30 - 10 pm. Food trucks, beers, music.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.

Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.

UTC Fit -- free outdoor fitness workout event, 9:30 - 10:30 am, The Green at University Town Center Mall.

Music at Hart's Landing -- free music starts at 7 pm, 920 John Ringling Causeway.

Sarasota International Dragon Boat Festival -- fanciful dragon boats filled with rowers compete. Food trucks, beer garden, entertainment, vendors/marketplace. 9 am - 4 pm. Free admission, parking is $5/vehicle.

Free at the Ringling -- free admission to the Ringling Museum of Art, 10 am - 5 pm. Ca'd'zan and circus museum are admission at regular prices.

Cinderella the Ballet -- performed at the Sarasota Opera House, 7 pm, for ticket info go to https://www.sarasotaopera.org/tickets-events

Tampa: Rides by the River Car Show -- exotic & collector cars, hot rods, etc. Pop-up bar, several "breakfast" food trucks on site. 1910 N. Ola, Ave, 8 - 11 am, free admission.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Dig the Beach Siesta Key Volley Ball Classic -- tournament play starts 8 am on Sat, 8:45 am on Sunday at Siesta Key beach. Free admission for spectators.



SUNDAY

Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.

The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- at Siesta Key beach every Sunday about an hour before sunset.

Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- Polo match 1 - 3:30 pm, various ticket prices.

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote.

Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.

Jazz on the Water, Cruise on the Bay -- cruise 3 - 5 pm on Marina Jack II from Marina Jack Plaza. For info on tickets call (941) 260-9951 or go to http://jazzclubsarasota.org

Veganfest -- live music, kids fun zone, food trucks. Nathan Benderson Park 11 am - 5 pm. $5/person donation suggested.

Dang, I was supposed to be in Sarasota right now. Had to cancel because of health issues. Sorry I’m missing this.

I saw Khalid & Ed Sheeran at Raymond James Stadium last night, & it was awsome. The City of Tampa does a great job with that venue, & getting 75,000 people in and out of there safely. The stadium was much nicer than I recalled from going to a Bucs game there ~30 yrs. ago.

I normally shy away from event this large, but I'd return to this one in a heartbeat....kudos to the City of Tampa, the stadium staff, & the production company for making the sound so good in a tough venue.

tip: pay for the parking pass in lot #14...paved lot w/ port-o-lets for tailgaiting, & short walk to the stadium.
