Aren't those icicles from the water they've put on them on purpose to keep them from freezing? Not sure how that works, always seemed backwards to me, but I guess that's what y'all do down there when you hear a freeze is coming!

Yes. At first I thought "we didn't get that much rain"
Then Mrs Tommy (the one who grew up here) pointed out the same thing that you're saying.

I can understand how the water is supposed to help. I don't understand the kerosene smudge pots. I guess the air has to be still.
