We purchased a "manufactured home" in Bradenton in April of this year in a nice 55+ park.
I've been looking for a homeowners policy that will cover potential storm damage - I've only gotten one quote from "Insurance Time of Bradenton, Inc." and it seems pretty high......we are looking for around $80,000.00 in "replacement" property coverage, average "liability" coverage, and a fairly small amount of coverage for interior property/furniture...
The quote I received is around $1800.00 per year which seems to me to be pretty high for a fairly small amount of coverage?
We presently use the home for "vacations" and getaways, but will be retiring in about a year and will be moving to Florida as full time residents.
The home is a 1980 doublewide manufactured home, is 26' x 44'....has two bedrooms and two baths, three car "carport" and an enclosed lanai.

Does anyone know of any Insurance companies/agencies in the area we could try? Also, does this amount for coverage seem reasonable?
Any ideas or other options?

I did try to go through the AARP (Foremost Insurance Co.) but told that they have reached their "saturation point" for manufacted homes in Manatee County and not writing any new policies.

Any information or ideas would be appreciated! or anyone who can give us an idea what you pay (for what would be similar properties/coverage).

Thanks

Rick
