We rented a condo in Indian Shores last January and the weather was a little too cold for our liking (even though we left two feet of snow behind at home, we were hoping to go swimming!). We paid $600. for a lovely 2 BR on the Gulf ( and got to meet Marianne from Gilligans Island who lived just down the street). Is Venice hot enough in January for swimming, and can anyone recommend some affordable condos. I need a two bedroom for around $600 for the week. Thanks for any info....
Vic

You might want to check Southwest Florida Gulf Coast Vacation Home Rentals and Property Management Venice/Englewood/Port Charlotte or Rental Homes in Florida | Discount Property Management | Search for a rental home in Florida for local rentals.

As far as swimming goes, I wouldn't swim in January in the gulf it's much to cold-my kids on the other hand have no problem with it. The lows are around 52 degrees and highs are around 73 degrees in January. I'm not sure what the gulf temp would be. I do see people out there swimming in January, I think they must all be from up north

Try going farther south, like Ft. Myers Beach area.
