I agree with you gypsychic. I think they'd be happy in the Sarasota areas, and should definitely see Siesta Key! That is what hooked me on moving down to the SWFL area! It's awesome, and there's a lot to do there.
If you don't mind a little drive say 30 minutes, then there are a lot of great places to choose from.
Where in NH are you from? I went to school in the middle of Vermont, and cruised over to NH quite often. The greatest place on earth in the fall when the trees are just starting to change! Winters can be brutal though.
What is your time frame?

we made the Manchester, NH to Sarasota/Venice move in 2005. I was introduced to this area by a friend from Mass that had a condo in Venice. I got familiar with the area, had a house built etc. Our plan was to rent for 3-5 months a year and use it as a getaway. We changed our minds and decided just to move.....

To the OP. You say you want to get away from the snow and how all sun and no snow is so great but if your in FL awhile, its a possibility you'll wanna go back to NH. Just my experience.

I hear ya, but I cannot function in the cold snow. I can deal with 50 deg windy days. 10 and snowing just sucks.
